For me to describe my own work is 'Get it right in camera' and 'Continue to experiment with different techniques, software.' As I continue my journey I label my work as photography post-cross-processing.
Here is the original, Nikon D610(full-frame),ISO 100, Nikon 85mm lens, f/10, 1/200 sec, YongNuo 568EX Speedlite, handheld, imported into Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 for white balance, lens correction:
Note the back-lighting, YongNuo 568EX Speedlite brings out front detail in Saguaro Skeleton. I continue with "post-cross-processing" meaning using different software to get the look I am trying to create. The above single image export into Photoshop CC 2014, layer made export Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 plug-in select 'Landscape Outdoor' preset, another layer export Color Efex Pro 4 select 'Detail Extraction on Saguaro Skeleton only. Merge all layers, export back into Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.4 for mild sharpening, clarity, vibrance, vignetting select to create 'Golden Rule' of thirds to spotlight upper left-hand corner, darken, balance rest of thirds composition. HDR Imaging plus Detail Extraction in CEP4 brought out details in "Saguaro Skeleton".
